Overview
The System and Database Administrator is responsible for the effective operation, maintenance, and security of the organization's business intelligence (BI), customer relationship management (CRM), and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. This role requires a strong understanding of database administration, system architecture, and data management principles.
The work is carried out in our modern and welcoming office located in the vibrant neighborhood of Vasastan in Stockholm. The office provides a comfortable and inspiring environment for our employees to thrive. You have the option to work hybrid (office first policy).
Responsibilities
Database Administration:
- Manage and maintain databases used by BI, CRM, and ERP systems, including database design, optimization, and performance tuning.
- Implement data security measures to protect sensitive information.
- Perform regular backup and disaster recovery planning.
- Design database architectures to accommodate business growth
- Plans for increased data volumes and user loads
- Troubleshoot database-related issues and resolve problems promptly.
System Administration:
- Install, configure, and maintain BI, CRM, and ERP.
- Monitor system performance and identify potential bottlenecks.
- Ensure system security and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Manage user accounts and permissions.
- Provide technical support to users and resolve system-related issues.
Data Integration:
- Develop and maintain data integration processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into BI, CRM, and ERP systems.
- Ensure data quality and consistency across systems.
Database development support:
- Collaborates with developers to optimize database designs
- Ensures best practices for database coding and stored procedures are implemented
Performance and Data Optimization:
- Identify and address performance issues in BI, CRM, and ERP systems.
- Implement strategies to improve system efficiency, data quality and responsiveness.
- Implements solutions for high availability and load balancing
- Ensures efficient query performance and data access patterns
Project Management:
- Participate in IT projects related to BI, CRM, and ERP systems, including system upgrades, implementations, and migrations.
- Assist in project planning, execution, and monitoring.
Cost optimization:
- Optimizes database licenses and hardware resources
- Implements efficient storage solutions
- Reduces operational costs through automation and best practices
Strategic planning:
- Aligns database and system architectures with business objectives
- Provides technical expertise for decision-making on database technologies
- Plans for future technology adoptions and upgrades
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in system and database administration, with a focus on BI, CRM, and ERP systems.
- Strong knowledge of database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL).
- Experience with data warehousing and data integration tools.
- Familiarity with BI, CRM, and ERP software (e.g., Qlik sense, Salesforce, Jeeves).
- Proficient in SQL query writing, database design, indexing, stored procedure creation and performance tuning.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills
- Certification in database administration or a relevant IT field.
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., VBA, Python, PowerShell).
- Knowledge of cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
Experience with data analytics and reporting tools.
